Baby Owen's Room

Here is the wall decal... except I have it in white...
A lot of you have been asking me for pics of the nursery (which is still... empty and walls are blank!) So instead, here are some of the things that have been ordered and we are very close to getting things in motion so that they can be delivered! Katie's crown molding carpenter comes on Saturday to hang the crown and then the bookshelves will be installed the following week... The crib and changing table will be delivered Monday and then we can start painting!! One wall will have an argyle print and the other walls will be ivory with 3 thin stripes. I also got a wall decal that I'll include a picture of.

This is the crib, and changing table (ignore all the pink!)

More to come... I'll post some pics of the room once we get started on it :)

Baby Bump at 26 weeks

A lot of you have asked to see the bump. Here is a pic from Christmas morning, we were playing with the new camera and finally took a bump pic. It's not really a bump. I'm just kind of wide all over the middle area. You know when people say they are "apple shaped" well I'm literally apple shaped right now. A slightly lopsided apple. But he's in there. I think he's all stretched out or something. Owen is not so much into curling up into a nice little basketball bump that everyone always hopes for.

Owen Scott

Our little baby boy has a name! It is so nice to be able to refer to little Baby Scott as Owen! Christmas was delayed due to snowy weather so it was nice to finally see all of our families. We made it home from OKC late last night and Tulsa was just as we left it, covered in ice and snow! Here are some pics from this morning. This is after 3 days!

On Christmas Eve my family was going to come to Tulsa but the weather kept everyone in OKC off the turnpike. Instead my sister Amy came from Bartlesville with my 3 nieces and Brent, Liz and Greg came over. It was a nice way to spend the snowy evening!

10 things I love about being Prego

So I'm sitting in the Hobby airport... delayed until 8:55 :( I'm really tired and my feet are swelling by the minute, but I decided that it's time to look at the bright side... This is a post about the good things about Prego life.
10 things I love about being Pregnant:
1. There is no temptation for clothes shopping... nothing fits so why bother.
2. I'm saving loads of cash that would otherwise be spent on alcohol and late nights
3. Pregnancy pants- other than the way they look, these things are fabulous. No worrying about love handles or panties hanging out the top... I mean the elastic comes up to your boobs for goodness sake! This holds everything in quite nicely so you can lean over with confidence!
4. Free rental car upgrades. On more than one occasion I have been upgraded at Enterprise because they wanted me and the baby to be safe. Aww.
5. Thick shiny hair
6. Long fingernails
7. No lifting heavy objects
8. No cleaning with chemicals
9. It's the only time in my life that people act disappointed if I'm not gaining weight
10. You get lots of solo time with baby. There is something really special about the moments the baby is kicking and I'm the only person that knows it.

My First Thanksgiving

Okay, so not my first Thanksgiving, but this year is the first year to have Thanksgiving at my house. I must say, I do feel quite grown up. Even though I ordered the Smoked Turkey from Whole Foods to be picked up tomorrow morning, that still leaves plenty of learning experiences for me! For the sides I am planning, mashed potatoes, the BEST focaccia stuffing recipe from WilliamsSonoma and I am trying a new recipe for Chestnut and Bacon Brussels Sprouts. I think this pregnancy nesting has kicked this into full gear. I'm even doing pear place card settings, idea courtesy of martha stewart (photo above). I have also included the recipes for the sides if anyone is interested. Have you seen that commercial for Target's holiday decor where the girl is practicing serving her husband and does a mock opening of the door while stirring an imaginary bowl? Well every time Ben sees it he says that's me. What can I say, I'm feeling quite domestic these days!!

Blasted shipping

SO I ordered the first item for the nursery, a rug that was on sale at ballard designs. I started with this rug because it's truly the centerpiece of the decor for the nursery (and it should be since it cost more than the crib or any other piece of furniture going in there!) I just pulled in from the airport to discover it had been delivered, wrapped in thin plastic that had torn open and one whole end is heavily soiled. My heart immediately sank as I dialed Ben to vent while walking up the steps. I called Ballard only to find out that was the last one!! Now, I can either change the motif or try to have it cleaned at their expense. I'm going with the latter now to see if I can salvage this design scheme. Woe is me.
